CEOs

In the Relationship Model™ the CEO is the interface between the board and staff, the strategic and tactical. As such, you must determine how the resources will be allocated to achieve the expected strategic priorities and goals (outcomes).

In addition, you also serve the key role of keeping the board up to date on changing conditions, inside and outside the organization, which may have an influence on the organizations ability to meet the objectives defined by the strategic plan.

This course, facilitated by an expert online trainer and who understands the role of a CEO, will guide you in an 8-week discovery of the CEOs role using the Relationship Model™.

Using Relationship Model principles as described in Governance Matters: Relationship Model™ of Governance, Leadership and Management, and web-based technologies developed specifically for distance learning, you will discover how to:

  • Distinguish between governance and management issues

  • Effectively communicate the objectives of the strategic plan

  • Develop meaningful board reports that are strategic and not tactical in nature

  • Prepare for the development of a tactical (operating) plan with special emphasis on programming and financial planning and management

  • Monitor and measure organization performance

  • Apply the benefits of the Relationship Model™ to an organization.

You can expect to spend 3-4 hours per week using examples to analyze real meeting situations, and applying tools and checklists to help you fulfill your role. Your experience in this course is all designed to improve your contribution to your organization and increase your personal fulfillment in the role of CEO. Course participants will also be given an opportunity to exchange ideas and questions with other CEOs.
